ABOUT MIKAYLA

MiKayla is a dedicated professional with a strong background in higher education student affairs, admissions, and a passion for helping students develop as a person and find long-term success & fulfillment. MiKayla holds a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, an MS in Academic Advising with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletics from Kansas State University, and an MS in Higher Education - College Administration and Leadership from Purdue University Global. Committed to helping students develop an individualized and successful collegiate career from admission to graduation, MiKayla brings a wonderful mix of professionalism, relatability, and positivity to the sometimes intimidating world of higher education.

MiKayla's greatest joy in life is being a mother to her two sweet toddlers. She brings this maternal instinct and nature to her work with students and finds it has been her greatest asset in being successful in the workplace.

Admissions Counselor

Office of Admissions and Recruitment

  • Travel within the state of Wisconsin to visit high schools and staff college fairs to meet institutional recruitment goals.

  • Connect with prospective students and families, providing excellent customer service to promote the university, answer questions, and de-escalate any tense interactions.

  • Perform holistic review of prospective student applications to align with institutional goals and initiatives.

  • Consistently among top performers in the office in regards to volume of applications reviewed annually.

  • Serve as a member of the appeals committee and team serving homeschool applicants.
